Rebecca Spencer – Managing Director

Rebecca is a strategic communications and engagement specialist with 20 years’ experience and is considered one of the go-to engagement professionals in the country. She specialises in developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies for the infrastructure and transport sectors.

Rebecca is called in when the project is tough, and the strategy or positioning needs to be watertight. She is engaged to provide solutions, direction, strategic advice and facilitation for complex, contentious and high-profile projects, issues and tender submissions.

She has successfully led large and high-performing teams across some of Australia’s largest and most challenging major projects. She has a deep understanding of planning approval, environmental legislation and NSW Government communication and engagement requirements.

Catherine Wheeler – General Manager

Catherine brings 15 years of national and international marketing and management experience, which ensures she has a fresh perspective on how we approach community engagement, communications and stakeholder management. Catherine’s expertise includes a specific focus on digital engagement, social media, marketing and client direction. With a background in tourism, government and advertising she is responsible for driving the business, the brand and ensuring the Becscomm team and our clients are happy and engaged.

Catherine also supports the team by providing proactive on-the-ground community and stakeholder engagement and communication support including face to face engagement, community research, managing digital platforms and running community events and forums.

Amanda Muir – Director, Engagement + Government Relations

Amanda has 20 years of experience delivering communications and engagement strategies for transport and infrastructure projects. She has worked across multiple transport modes including freight and light rail, roads and motorways with cross disciplinary skills including communications, community and stakeholder engagement, government and media relations.

She is experienced in all stages of the project lifecycle, from the development of the business case, early planning and concept design through planning determination and into construction communications while working with all levels of government.

Amanda Mikhael – Senior Engagement + Communications Consultant

With 10 years’ experience, Amanda is adept in providing on-the-ground community engagement management for project teams. She specialises in the design and delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies as well as professional writing for annual reports, communication plans, public communication material, tenders and proposals, case studies and award submissions.

With extensive experience in the transport, civil construction and infrastructure sectors, Amanda has successfully led the community and stakeholder engagement team on the Albion Park Rail Bypass. She also has experience in early project planning including property acquisition and EIS preparation for the NSW Government.

Sahar Syed – Senior Engagement + Communications Consultant

With 10 years’ experience, Sahar provides a range of communication and engagement services for the transport, power, infrastructure, contamination, planning and defence industries with a passion for environmental investigation. She is experienced in external and internal communications and has a range of project and delivery experience working with Transport for NSW, the Department of Defence and TransGrid. This involved developing and implementing strategies and plans to identify and manage customer and stakeholder risks and issues and proactively position clients to customers and stakeholders.

Sahar is experienced in creating strategies and specialises in managing end-to-end campaigns and projects to engage customers, communities and stakeholders. She is highly competent and creative in developing content for a variety of communication channels, including traditional, digital and social media channels.

Rhianna McAlary – Engagement + Communications Consultant

With six years’ experience Rhianna has a strong aptitude for engagement and communications specific to infrastructure, transport sectors for both state and local government. She has experience informing and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including government representatives, council officers, transport operators, transport users and local communities.

Rhianna specialises in the on-the-ground delivery of community and stakeholder engagement for projects of all sizes. She has a strong understanding of government processes, planning approval conditions and extensive experience developing and implementing communication plans to support infrastructure delivery.

Callum Roberts – Engagement + Communications Consultant

Callum Roberts is a dynamic communication and engagement consultant with strong interpersonal and writing skills. With a passion for strategic engagement, Callum excels at building authentic relationships to facilitate practical solutions that address community needs and deliver effective key messages.

His key industry sectors include government, rail, transport, construction, education, arts and regional affairs, and has worked with ARTC, Schools Infrastructure and DPIE. He is currently working a dual role across community and environmental.

Vanessa Tiernan – Senior Associate

With over 20 years’ experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, event and project management, Vanessa has a proven track record in developing and implementing communications and community consultation strategies for high profile infrastructure projects.

Vanessa’s most recent engagement includes corporate affairs for Moorebank Intermodal Company, including carrying out the consultation with the port and freight industry. She also has a strong background in the rail industry with engagements as stakeholder manager for Sydney Growth Trains – Mortdale Maintenance Centre and New Intercity Fleet Program – Station and Signalling Enabling Works.
